What this scheme offers
A single cash payment can genuinely help, but for a family living on under ₹1 lakh a year, the deeper problem is usually that they're missing out on a dozen different schemes they'd actually qualify for — a scholarship here, a skill-training programme there, a farm subsidy they never heard about. MAPU's core idea is to fix that access problem directly: every family identified as among Haryana's poorest, using Parivar Pehchan Patra data, gets assigned a dedicated government official — a 'Parivar Mitra' — whose specific job is helping that family navigate and actually access the 30-plus schemes they may be eligible for, spanning skill training, employment, agriculture support, scholarships and housing. Launched in 2021 with an initial 1 lakh families, the scheme's stated goal is raising each family's income above ₹1.80 lakh a year through this coordinated support rather than through one lump payment.
Who is eligible
- Family in Haryana with annual income below ₹1 lakh, identified through the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) database.
- Willing to work with the assigned Parivar Mitra to access relevant schemes.
Documents required
- Parivar Pehchan Patra (Family ID)
- Aadhaar card of family members
- Documents specific to whichever of the 30+ linked schemes you're accessing
How to apply
- Ensure your family is registered with a valid Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP), as MAPU identification is based on PPP income data.
- If your family is identified as eligible, a Parivar Mitra will be assigned to your household — you don't need to separately apply for the identification itself.
- Work with your assigned Parivar Mitra to identify which of the 30+ linked schemes (skill training, employment, agriculture, scholarships, housing) your family qualifies for.
- Provide the specific documents needed for each individual scheme your Parivar Mitra helps you access.
- Contact your district Antyodaya office if you believe your family qualifies but hasn't been assigned a Parivar Mitra.
