What this scheme offers
E-Grantz consolidates what used to be multiple separate scholarship application processes for SC, ST, OBC and OEC students in Kerala into a single digital platform, covering both pre-matric and post-matric stages. SC, ST and OEC students face no income ceiling at all and typically get full tuition fee exemption at government and aided institutions; OBC and general-category students have an income limit and a somewhat smaller benefit package, but still access the same unified portal rather than a separate process. Over 3 lakh students have used the system since it launched in 2021, and renewal happens through the same E-Grantz 3.0 portal each year rather than the National Scholarship Portal.
