What this scheme offers
Before MEDISEP, Kerala's state employees and pensioners relied on a medical reimbursement system that involved submitting bills and waiting for repayment — workable, but slow and administratively heavy for both employees and the department. Launched on 1 July 2022, MEDISEP replaced that with genuine insurance-based cashless coverage, extending to newly recruited employees and their families, part-time staff, aided-school and college employees, and pensioners along with their spouses and family pensioners — consolidating a fragmented system into one scheme with one clear process.
