What this scheme offers
Lakshadweep's small, scattered island geography means local educational institutions can't offer every level and stream of study, and students often have to travel to the mainland to continue their education beyond what the islands themselves provide. The Lakshadweep Scholarship Scheme gives financial assistance to help offset that real cost — applied for through the state scheme listing on the National Government Services Portal (MyScheme) rather than a separate UT-only system.
