What this scheme offers
Madhya Pradesh's unorganised workforce — an estimated 50 lakh people registered so far — typically has no employer-provided safety net of any kind. Sambal (meaning 'support') bundles several benefits into one registration rather than making workers navigate separate schemes for each: 200 units of free electricity every month, free education support for children, a ₹16,000 maternity benefit, and accident/death insurance covering ₹2–4 lakh depending on the circumstances. It's a genuinely broad welfare umbrella, closer in scope to Bihar's or West Bengal's unorganised-worker schemes than to a single-benefit programme.
