What this scheme offers
Announced in September 2008, this scheme covers a risk that crop insurance doesn't: the farmer themselves getting hurt or killed while working. If a Madhya Pradesh farmer or agricultural worker has an accident during farm work — machinery, snakebite, electrocution at a pump, falls and similar — the state pays compensation to the farmer or the family, entirely government-funded with no premium. The official Ujjain district government listing gives ₹4 lakh on death, ₹1 lakh for permanent disability, ₹25,000 for temporary disability, plus funeral assistance. Some aggregator sites show lower figures (₹2 lakh on death), likely out of date — confirm the amount with your district agriculture office when claiming.

- The accident occurred while doing agricultural work.
