What this scheme offers
Named after Ramabai Ambedkar, this scheme gives SC and Neo-Buddhist families in Maharashtra a construction grant for a pucca house — recognising that the same fixed amount doesn't stretch equally far everywhere, the grant is scaled by region: less in rural plains where materials and labour cost less, more in hilly terrain where transport and construction are harder, and the most in urban areas where land and building costs are highest. An additional ₹12,000 is added specifically for building a toilet, tying the scheme to sanitation goals as well as shelter.
