What this scheme offers
A non-communicable disease like hypertension or diabetes can go undetected for years if the only way to find out is to visit a health facility yourself — and for many villages in Manipur, that visit isn't always a simple trip. Launched in October 2021 as the Northeast's first programme of its kind, CM's Health for All Scheme flips that around: field teams go door to door using a hand-held screening device called ASHA+, checking residents for hypertension, diabetes, common cancers and other NCDs right where they live. Over 1.41 lakh people have been screened so far, with anyone showing a serious finding connected onward to CMHT or Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY for treatment. Notably, the scheme kept running straight through Manipur's period of President's Rule (February 2025–February 2026) and into the new elected government, with the state health department confirming ₹5 crore allocated for it again in the 2026-27 budget — a genuine mark of administrative continuity through a turbulent political period.
