What this scheme offers
The Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme (MOAPS) is the state's own pension for old and destitute people, run by the Department of Social Welfare under the Manipur Old Age Pension Rules. District pages in 2026 show ₹200 a month per beneficiary, and a July 2026 department briefing counted about 1,07,082 elderly beneficiaries. The rules say a person must be 60 or above for men and 55 or above for women, an Indian citizen and a resident of Manipur for more than ten years, with no income or source of support; if both husband and wife are destitute, each can get the pension. The department's old rules page still lists ₹60 a month, and a separate central pension, IGNOAPS, pays ₹200, or ₹500 from age 80, to BPL beneficiaries.
