What this scheme offers
Running an irrigation pump or other farm electrical equipment is a recurring cost that eats into a farmer's margin regardless of how the season goes. MMKUY credits up to ₹1,000 a month directly against a Rajasthan farmer's agricultural electricity bill — not a cash payment to a bank account, but a subsidy applied at the meter, which means it reduces what's owed rather than requiring the farmer to pay first and claim later.
Who is eligible
- Farmer in Rajasthan with an agricultural electricity connection.
- Connection registered in the farmer's own name (or as recognised by the scheme).
- Bill payment history in good standing, per discom rules.
Documents required
- Electricity connection (K-number) details
- Aadhaar card
- Land records
- Bank account details, where cash components apply
How to apply
- Ensure your agricultural electricity connection is correctly registered with your local discom (JVVNL/AVVNL/JDVVNL depending on your area).
- The subsidy is typically applied automatically to eligible agricultural connections — check your bill for the credited amount.
- If you don't see the subsidy applied despite being eligible, contact your local discom office or the Energy Department helpline.
- Keep your Aadhaar and connection details linked and updated to avoid processing delays.
