What this scheme offers
Rajasthan's Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana, in force since 2022, pays a family a sum at the time of a daughter's marriage, and the amount rises with the bride's education. For SC, ST and minority BPL families it is ₹31,000 for a bride below Class 10, ₹41,000 for a Class 10 pass and ₹51,000 for a graduate. For other BPL families, Antyodaya and Astha-card families, economically weak widows, families with disabled parents, Palanhar beneficiaries and women athletes marrying, it is ₹21,000, ₹31,000 and ₹41,000 for the same three levels. The money is paid by direct transfer to a bank account, and applications are made online on the SSO portal or through an e-Mitra centre.
Who is eligible
- The bride must be a native of Rajasthan and aged 18 or above.
- Higher slab (₹31,000 / ₹41,000 / ₹51,000): BPL families of SC, ST and minority categories.
