What this scheme offers
Launched on 1 June 2016, Rajshri Yojana pays a Rajasthan family staged cash assistance for a girl child, starting with a payment at birth (conditional on institutional delivery), and continuing through further installments tied to immunisation completion and school admission/continuation at Class 1, Class 6, Class 10 and Class 12. The staged design mirrors similar schemes in other states — money keeps flowing only as the girl reaches each health and education milestone, giving families an ongoing incentive to keep her in school and up to date on immunisation, rather than a single upfront payment with no further connection to her wellbeing.
Who is eligible
- Girl child born in Rajasthan on or after the scheme's effective date, to a family holding a Bhamashah/Jan Aadhaar card.
- Birth must be registered, and delivery must be institutional (at a government or empanelled private health facility) to claim the birth-stage installment.
- The girl must complete immunisation and remain enrolled in school at each relevant stage (Class 1, 6, 10, 12) to claim the corresponding installment.
- Generally limited to the first two girl children in a family, per standard scheme conditions — confirm current family-size rules on the official portal.
