What this scheme offers
Rajasthan's 150-unit scheme builds on the earlier Mukhyamantri Nishulk Bijli Yojana. Households already registered under that scheme can get up to 150 units of free electricity every month, but only by putting a rooftop solar plant of at least 1.1 kW on their roof under the central PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. So there are really two steps: you give your consent on the state portal, and you separately apply for the solar installation, where the central subsidy applies (₹30,000 for a 1 kW system and ₹60,000 for 2 kW). Registration on the state portal is free and works for consumers of all three Discoms — JVVNL, AVVNL and JdVVNL.
Who is eligible
- You must already be registered as a beneficiary under the earlier Mukhyamantri Nishulk Bijli Yojana (the 100-unit scheme).
- The connection must be in the domestic category, with a pucca rooftop suitable for a solar plant.
- You must be willing to install at least a 1.1 kW rooftop solar plant under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
- The consumer must be served by JVVNL, AVVNL or JdVVNL.
