What this scheme offers
The Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi helps Scheduled Caste students from Telangana pay for a Master's or PhD abroad — and many listings say Scheduled Tribe students as well. The grant is up to ₹20 lakh, or the amount in the admission letter if that is lower, plus a one-way economy air ticket and visa charges. The family's income, from all sources, must be below ₹5 lakh and only one child per family can benefit; students go to universities in the USA, Canada, Germany, France, the UK, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia or New Zealand. A graduation score of at least 60% and a valid GRE or GMAT and English-test score are asked for, and the age limit is reported as 35 on 1 July. Applications are taken on the Telangana ePASS portal and placed before a state-level selection committee, which met on 13 May 2025, 17 September 2025, 10 February 2026 and 8 July 2026. Telangana runs sister schemes for BC and EBC students and for minorities on the same portal.
