What this scheme offers
Young India Integrated Residential Schools are Telangana's plan to replace separate caste- and community-based residential schools with shared campuses where students from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Class and minority families — and, according to some reports, economically weaker sections of other groups — study and live together. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the first foundation stones on 11 October 2024; the target is 105 schools, one in each Assembly constituency, at a total cost put at ₹21,000 crore. As of 6 August 2026 construction was under way at 86 campuses, 19 more were awaiting final administrative approval, and ₹1,144.85 crore had just been released. Each English-medium campus is planned on 25 to 30 acres for about 2,560 to 2,650 students, with smart boards, laboratories and digital libraries; at launch the schools were described as Class IV to XII. This is a school-building programme, and no general admission process has been announced yet.

- Admission rules for the new campuses have not been published yet; check district notifications as campuses open.
