What this scheme offers
Uttar Pradesh pays a monthly pension of ₹1,000 to persons with disabilities, credited in quarterly instalments of ₹3,000 directly to the bank account. It is meant for people whose disability makes it hard to earn and whose families have very little income. The income limits are strict — ₹46,080 a year in rural areas and ₹56,460 in urban areas as listed on the SSPY portal — and a person already receiving another government pension cannot claim this one. Some websites quote a ₹2 lakh income limit, which does not match the portal. The same SSPY portal handles the old-age and widow pensions.
