What this scheme offers
Run through the state's SSPY portal alongside the old-age and disability pensions, this scheme pays eligible widows ₹1,000 a month, credited quarterly via DBT. Some recent reports suggest the state has raised this to around ₹1,500/month (an increase of ₹500), but this isn't consistently confirmed across official sources — check the current rate on sspy-up.gov.in before relying on a specific figure. The scheme works alongside the central Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS), which separately provides ₹300/month for BPL widows aged 40-59.
