UP Kisan Rin Mochan Yojana

A one-time crop-loan waiver (up to ₹1 lakh) for small and marginal Uttar Pradesh farmers, covering bank and cooperative loans outstanding as of 31 March 2016. Applications are closed — this is a completed waiver round whose beneficiary list can still be checked online.

What this scheme offers

Launched in 2017 as Uttar Pradesh's flagship response to farm distress, this scheme wrote off outstanding crop loans — up to ₹1 lakh per farmer — for small and marginal farmers, covering loans from scheduled banks, cooperative banks and RRBs that were outstanding as of 31 March 2016 specifically. That cutoff date was chosen deliberately, to prevent fresh borrowing timed to game the waiver. Around 86 lakh farmers benefited from the roughly ₹36,000 crore waiver. This is a completed, one-time waiver round rather than a rolling scheme — there's no fresh application window — but the beneficiary list remains checkable online, which matters if you're unsure whether your loan was actually cleared.

Who is eligible

  • Small or marginal farmer (landholding up to 2 hectares) in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Crop loan from a scheduled bank, cooperative bank or Regional Rural Bank.

  • Loan from private moneylenders or NBFCs does not qualify — bank/cooperative loans only.

  • Land records (khata-khatauni)
  • Bank details
