Nanda Gaura Yojana (Uttarakhand)

₹62,000 for a girl child in two stages — ₹11,000 at birth and ₹51,000 after she passes Class 12 — for up to two daughters per family with income up to ₹72,000 a year.

What this scheme offers

Nanda Gaura Yojana pays for a girl child in two stages: ₹11,000 when she is born and ₹51,000 after she passes Class 12, a total of ₹62,000. It folds in the earlier Gaura Devi Kanya Dhan Yojana and is available for up to two daughters per family. The two stages have different deadlines, which families often miss. The birth stage must be applied for within six months of delivery, and the Class 12 stage has an annual window that closes on 30 November — for 2026-27 that is 30 November 2026. The whole process is online at nandagaurauk.in, with Common Service Centres to help families without internet access.

Who is eligible

  • Girls who are permanent residents of Uttarakhand; benefits cover a maximum of two girl children in a family.
  • Annual family income of up to ₹72,000 (₹6,000 a month), shown by an income certificate from the Tehsildar issued within the last six months — confirm the current limit on the portal.
  • Stage 1 (₹11,000): the girl was born in a hospital or health centre, and the application is filed within six months of birth.
  • Stage 2 (₹51,000): she has passed Class 12 from a recognised board (Uttarakhand Board, CBSE, ICSE or NIOS) in the state, is unmarried, and applies within the annual window.
