What this scheme offers
Announced for youth aged 21–40 as on 1 April 2026, Banglar Yuva Sathi pays ₹1,500 a month for up to 24 months — whichever ends first, the 24-month cap, finding employment, or enrolling in another government scheme. It's built on the same logic as similar unemployment-allowance schemes elsewhere in India: a modest bridge, not a substitute income, that stops the day it's no longer needed. This is West Bengal's current, most prominent version of this kind of scheme — similar earlier schemes have existed under different names, so if you've heard of 'Yuvasree' or 'Yuvashree Arpan,' this is the version currently being promoted by the state government.
