What this scheme offers
Aikyashree isn't a single scholarship but an umbrella covering five distinct schemes under WBMDFC, each targeting a different stage of a minority student's education — Pre-Matric, Post-Matric, Merit-cum-Means, Talent Search, and a specific track for students in professional/technical courses. Support scales with the stage: modest maintenance allowances for younger students in school, growing toward full tuition-fee reimbursement plus maintenance for those in higher education, reaching over 15 lakh students from Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsi and Jain communities across West Bengal.
