What this scheme offers
The Chief Minister's Krishi Rinn Yojana, started in 2017-18, gives farmers in Arunachal Pradesh crop loans at effectively zero interest. The state pays a 4% interest subvention on crop loans and Kisan Credit Card limits up to ₹3 lakh sanctioned by any bank, over and above the interest subvention given by the Government of India, and a farmer who repays within a year of drawing the loan gets a further 3% a year in relief. Taken together, a farmer who borrows up to ₹3 lakh and repays on time pays no net interest. The scheme is for farmers growing short-term crops, with an annual target of 7,500 farmers, and NABARD channels the reimbursement to banks. A farmer applies at any bank with a land-holding certificate obtained from the circle officer or the district administration.
