What this scheme offers
Chhattisgarh's Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, running since 2006, helps poor families marry their daughters through mass-marriage ceremonies organised by the Women & Child Development Department in every district. At the most recent mass wedding, in May 2026, more than 2,300 couples of every faith were married on one day, and the Chief Minister described the support as ₹35,000 financial assistance per couple together with household items and the arrangements for the ceremony. The scheme's older structure was a ₹25,000 spend per girl — ₹5,000 for make-up items, ₹14,000 for gifts, ₹1,000 as a bank draft to the bride and ₹5,000 for organising the event — and some listings quote up to ₹50,000, so confirm the current amount locally. Widows, orphans and destitute girls are covered along with BPL families.
