What this scheme offers
Shramik Annapurna Yojana serves a complete cooked meal for just ₹5 to registered construction workers and their family members, with the state adding about ₹37 for every plate. The scheme began in 2017 and was re-initiated in October 2022; within its first year about 50 lakh workers were served, and by December 2024 the Welfare Board had 291 Annapurna Bhojan Kendras, with food also delivered to construction sites. To eat, a worker scans the QR code on the e-Nirman card at the centre and collects the meal on the spot or as a tiffin. The one prerequisite is registration with the Gujarat Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, which is also what opens the Board's other schemes.
