What this scheme offers
Mukhyamantri SHRAMIK — Shahri Rozgar Manjuri for Kamgar — Yojana is Jharkhand's urban answer to the rural job guarantee. Started in 2020, when many migrant workers returned during the pandemic, it guarantees 100 days of wage employment in a financial year to unskilled workers in all 51 urban local bodies, as a legal entitlement: if work is not provided, the applicant is entitled to an unemployment allowance. A free job card is issued after verification and is valid for three years, work is to be allotted within 15 days of a demand, and a demand must be for at least seven days. Work is in urban development projects such as housing, sanitation and roads. Job cards can be obtained online, through community resource persons, at the urban local body office or at ward camps.
