What this scheme offers
Launched on 5 March 2023, Ladli Behna Yojana pays eligible Madhya Pradesh women ₹1,500 every month (raised from ₹1,250 after Diwali 2025) — ₹18,000 a year — deposited directly into their own bank account, with the aim of strengthening women's financial independence and improving household economic security. Unlike scheme components tied to specific life-stage milestones, this is an ongoing monthly transfer as long as the beneficiary continues to meet the eligibility criteria. A linked housing component, Ladli Behna Awas Yojana, separately supports scheme beneficiaries who are homeless or living in kutcha (temporary) houses, offering ₹2 lakh to build a pucca house, specifically targeting women excluded from PM Awas Yojana-Gramin.
