Mukhyamantri Bal Ashirwad Yojana (Madhya Pradesh)

₹4,000 a month for orphaned children under 18, and ₹5,000 a month up to age 24 for care leavers in higher education or vocational training, with free treatment through an Ayushman card.

What this scheme offers

Mukhyamantri Bal Ashirwad Yojana, begun in September 2022, supports children who have lost their parents. Orphaned children under 18 who live with a relative or guardian, or in a child-care institution, receive ₹4,000 a month as sponsorship. Young people who grew up in a child-care institution for at least five years — care leavers — get after-care support once they turn 18: ₹5,000 a month while in higher education or vocational training, up to age 24, ₹5,000 a month during an internship for up to a year, and, for those who win admission through NEET, JEE or CLAT, ₹5,000 a month plus the course fee fixed by the regulator. Eligible children are also covered for free treatment through an Ayushman card.

Who is eligible

  • Sponsorship: a child under 18 of a Madhya Pradesh family whose parents have died, living with a relative or guardian or in a child-care institution, and not covered by the earlier CM Covid-19 Bal Seva Yojana.
  • After-care: a young person who lived in a child-care institution continuously for five years (counting the year of birth) and has turned 18.
  • After-care support runs up to age 24 for higher education or vocational training; internship support lasts up to one year and vocational training up to two years.
  • Admission through NEET, JEE or CLAT brings ₹5,000 a month plus the fixed course fee.
