Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana

₹1,500 a month, direct to your bank account — Maharashtra's flagship women's cash-transfer scheme, now closed to new applicants and focused on verifying existing beneficiaries.

Important: fresh registrations closed on 15 October 2024. If you're not already enrolled, the current portal will not let you register — this page is for existing beneficiaries checking status, completing e-KYC, or troubleshooting a stopped payment.

What this scheme offers

Launched on 28 June 2024, this scheme pays eligible women ₹1,500 every month via Direct Benefit Transfer, aiming to strengthen women's financial independence across Maharashtra. Over 2.3 crore women enrolled during the original registration window. A promised increase to ₹2,100/month has been discussed but was not notified as of July 2026 — the amount remains ₹1,500. Through 2025-26, the state ran a strict e-KYC and beneficiary verification drive; public reports cite figures ranging from roughly 65 to 90 lakh beneficiaries being removed from the scheme for failing verification or being found ineligible. The government has confirmed the scheme continues through 2026-27 for those who remain verified and eligible, at a monthly expenditure exceeding ₹3,700 crore.

Who was eligible (for reference)

  • Permanent resident women of Maharashtra, aged 21 to 65.
  • Family annual income below ₹2.5 lakh.
  • Married (including widowed, divorced and deserted) women; one unmarried woman per family is also permitted under the scheme's rules.
  • Personal Aadhaar-linked savings bank account required.
  • No family member should be an income-tax payer.

If you're already enrolled: what to do now

  1. Complete your e-KYC at ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in/ekyc if you haven't already — payments are paused or permanently stopped without it.
  2. Alternatively, use the Nari Shakti Doot mobile app with your registered mobile number to check and complete e-KYC.
  3. Payments are typically credited between the 15th and 20th of each month (some sources report 1st-7th — timing has varied; check your account directly).
  4. If your payment has stopped, first check whether your e-KYC is complete and whether your name still appears on the beneficiary list — this is the most common cause.
  5. If unresolved, visit your local Women & Child Development (WCD) office, or call the helpline 181 (Monday-Saturday, 9 AM-6 PM).
  6. You do not need to reapply from scratch if your account is on hold — completing e-KYC is generally sufficient to resume payments if you remain eligible.
