What this scheme offers
The Samrudha Krushak Yojana, approved by the Odisha Cabinet on 23 October 2024, lifts the price paid to paddy farmers: those registered to sell through the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department's procurement system receive ₹3,100 a quintal, which is the prevailing minimum support price plus state-funded input assistance. Paddy seed growers registered with the state seed certification agency who sell seed through the Odisha State Seeds Corporation also get input assistance. The 2026-27 budget, presented on 20 February 2026, sets ₹6,088 crore for the scheme and a ₹5,000 crore revolving fund so that farmers are paid promptly. Local reports from some districts, such as Kendrapada, say that mandis opened late and some farmers sold below the support price to private traders, so timing varies by place.
