What this scheme offers
Originally launched in December 2018 as KALIA under then-Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, this scheme was designed to support three groups largely left out of central agricultural schemes: small and marginal cultivators, landless agricultural labourers, and other vulnerable farming households. Support traditionally included seasonal cash assistance (paid around the Kharif and Rabi crop seasons, often timed to coincide with the Nuakhai festival), livelihood support for landless households, interest-free crop loans, and a linked life insurance component. The scheme has since been restructured and renamed CM Kisan Yojana, with the Odisha government indicating the 2025-26 and 2026-27 budget allocations and exact payment structure are still being finalised and confirmed on the official portal — worth checking directly given the reported figures currently vary across sources.
