Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana (Punjab)

Cashless hospital cover of up to ₹10 lakh per family per year for every Punjab resident, with no income or age limit — launched on 22 January 2026 as the successor to the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana.

What this scheme offers

Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana gives every enrolled Punjab family cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh a year at empanelled government and private hospitals, covering more than 2,000 procedures. The cover is a family floater, so the ₹10 lakh is shared by everyone on the card. What sets it apart is that there is no means test: central Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY depends on SECC 2011 data, whereas here enrolment follows residence, not income, ration card or caste. It replaced the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana from 22 January 2026, and regular state-government employees, pensioners and contract workers are covered alongside everyone else.

Who is eligible

  • A bona fide, permanent resident of Punjab — there is no income, caste, age or occupation test.
  • One Sehat card covers the whole family, with the ₹10 lakh shared as a floater.
  • Regular Punjab government employees, pensioners, and outsourced or contract staff of the state government are also eligible.
  • A valid Aadhaar is required, and Aadhaar-based eKYC is mandatory when the card is generated.

Documents required

  • Aadhaar card
  • Voter ID card (EPIC), used together with Aadhaar at registration
  • For children under 18: birth certificate along with Aadhaar
  • Mobile number linked to Aadhaar for the OTP

How to apply

  1. Check whether your family is already enrolled on the State Health Agency portal (sha.punjab.gov.in) using the beneficiary search with your Aadhaar number.
  2. Take your Aadhaar and Voter ID to the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC), Sewa Kendra or registration camp — CSCs can register you on the spot.
  3. Complete the Aadhaar eKYC by OTP or biometric and have your Sehat card generated.
  4. If you prefer a digital copy, download the card from the portal or the Ayushman app using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  5. At an empanelled hospital, show the card at the Arogya Mitra helpdesk, which verifies you and raises the pre-authorisation for cashless treatment.
  6. For help, call the helpline on 104 or 14555.
