What this scheme offers
Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak are twin marriage-assistance schemes that give a one-time ₹1,00,116 to the bride's family. Kalyana Lakshmi is for brides from SC, ST, BC and EBC families, and Shaadi Mubarak is for minority brides, but the amount and the rules are the same. The grant has risen from ₹50,000 in 2015 to ₹75,116 in 2017 and ₹1,00,116 from March 2018, and the schemes have run since 2 October 2014. The money is paid after the marriage into the account of the bride's mother, so check that her Aadhaar-linked account is correct and active before you apply.
