What this scheme offers
Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana is Uttar Pradesh's own scheme for traditional and skilled workers; it should not be confused with the central PM Vishwakarma Yojana, which has its own 18-trade list and portal. In its current 2.0 form it combines four things: free skill-development training of up to ten days in trades with market demand; an advanced toolkit worth up to ₹15,000 after the training; margin-money support on a bank loan to start or expand a business (loan sizes of up to ₹10 lakh are reported, so check the slab with your District Industries Centre); and sessions on design, technology and marketing. A training stipend of about ₹500 a day has also been reported. The state aims to reach over five lakh artisans in five years.
