Uttarakhand Old Age Pension (Vridhavastha Pension)

₹1,500 a month for senior citizens aged 60 and above in Uttarakhand — husband and wife can each get it — for those with monthly income up to ₹4,000 or a BPL card, selected at the Gram Sabha and applied for on the Samaj Kalyan portal.

What this scheme offers

Uttarakhand's Old Age Pension pays ₹1,500 a month to senior citizens aged 60 and above, and both husband and wife can each receive it if both qualify. The applicant's monthly income from all sources should not exceed ₹4,000, or the applicant should hold a BPL card, and in rural areas the name must be selected at an open meeting of the Gram Sabha (in towns, by the Councillor). Applications go through the Social Welfare portal or the Block Development Office and are scrutinised by the District Social Welfare Officer before the pension is paid by bank transfer. The department says the central NSAP old-age pension is part of the amount for beneficiaries in the BPL list, while others get the whole amount from the state.
