What this scheme offers
Running since 2016, this scheme layers a state contribution on top of the central PM Awas Yojana-Gramin programme specifically for Arunachal Pradesh. Because Arunachal is classified as a hilly state under PMAY-G, the central share is already higher than the plains rate — ₹1.3 lakh instead of ₹1.2 lakh — and the state government adds a further ₹0.7 lakh on top, bringing the total to ₹2 lakh for constructing a pucca house. Beneficiaries also receive linked utility connections: free electricity under the Saubhagya Scheme, clean drinking water through Jal Jeevan Mission, and an LPG connection via PM Ujjwala Yojana. A distinctive local adaptation: since most land in Arunachal Pradesh is held under tribal community ownership rather than individual titles, Village Council certification is accepted as valid proof of land rights for the application, in place of standard land ownership documents.

How to apply
- Check whether your household appears in the SECC 2011 data or the newer Awaas+ registry — this determines base eligibility.
- If not listed, contact your Gram Panchayat or Rural Development office to check whether you can be added via the Awaas+ survey process.
- Obtain Village Council certification confirming your land rights, since standard land title documents are often unavailable given community land ownership patterns.
- Submit your APST certificate, BPL/registry proof, and Village Council certification to your local Rural Development office.
- Once approved, construction funding is released in installments, similar to standard PMAY-G disbursal, alongside linked utility connections.
