What this scheme offers
Running since 2012, MA Yojana provides cashless coverage for over 2,300 medical and surgical procedures across specialties including cardiac care, cancer treatment, kidney and liver disease, neurosurgery, burns, and polytrauma — up to ₹5 lakh per family per year, extendable to ₹10 lakh in specific eligible cases. The linked MA Vatsalya Yojana, added in 2014, extends the same coverage to families earning up to ₹4 lakh a year, widening access beyond just BPL households. Coverage isn't limited to hospitals within Gujarat — empanelled facilities exist in other states too, useful for families who need to travel for specialised treatment. The scheme integrates with the central Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY for eligible families.
