Old Age Samman Allowance (Haryana)

₹3,200 a month for Haryana residents aged 60 or above whose household income, with spouse, does not exceed ₹3 lakh a year — among the highest state old-age pensions in India.

What this scheme offers

Haryana pays eligible residents aged 60 or above ₹3,200 every month, directly into their bank account. The rate was ₹3,000 from 1 January 2024 and rose to ₹3,200 from 1 November 2025, which keeps it among the highest state old-age pensions in the country. The scheme dates back to 1966 and was renamed the Old Age Samman Allowance in 1991. Eligibility is deliberately simple — age, domicile and a combined household income of up to ₹3 lakh a year — and applicants can apply through the SARAL portal or an Atal Seva Kendra.

Who is eligible

  • Aged 60 years or above.
  • Domicile and resident of Haryana.
  • Annual income from all sources, together with that of the spouse, must not exceed ₹3,00,000.
  • Anyone drawing a pension from a government, local or statutory body is not eligible — except retirees whose pension is lower than the allowance, who can receive the difference.

Documents required

  • Age proof: birth certificate, or school certificate (5th, 8th or 10th class)
  • Residence proof: ration card, voter card or voter-list extract, self-attested and issued at least 15 years ago
  • Aadhaar card
  • Bank account details (passbook)
  • Income details or self-declaration, and a passport-size photograph
