What this scheme offers
The Chief Minister's Ima Nongthangleima Yaipha Tengbang Scheme, launched in December 2023 on Nupi Lan Day, gives ₹500 a month, or ₹6,000 a year, to women in Manipur who are above 40 and have no stable source of livelihood. The Social Welfare Department's guideline, published in the state gazette, aims to reach about four lakh women. Eligible groups include widows, divorcees, separated women, single women and single transgender women, deprived and marginalised women such as former drug users, and women from low-income households. The woman must be a resident of Manipur and must not already benefit from any existing government scheme for individual beneficiaries. Applications are taken in announced rounds — one ran from 17 July to 6 August 2025 — and Manipur has had a new government since 4 February 2026.
