Rythu Bharosa

₹12,000 per acre per year for Telangana farmers with verified cultivable land — the current government's restructured successor to the earlier Rythu Bandhu scheme.

Note: if you're searching for "Rythu Bandhu," this scheme replaced it in January 2025, following Telangana's change of government to the Congress party under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Key differences: payment is now restricted to verified cultivable land only, and a separate scheme (Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa) covers landless agricultural labourers.

What this scheme offers

Rythu Bharosa pays ₹12,000 per acre per year (₹6,000 per crop season — Vanakalam/Kharif and Yasangi/Rabi) to Telangana farmers, credited directly to their bank accounts ahead of each season to help cover input costs like seeds and fertiliser. Unlike its predecessor Rythu Bandhu, which paid per landholding regardless of cultivation status, Rythu Bharosa restricts payment to land verified as cultivable on the state's Bhu Bharati land records system — land classified as non-agricultural, inam, forest, or otherwise unsuitable for cultivation does not qualify. Landless agricultural labourers, who received no direct benefit under the older scheme, are separately covered by Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, paying ₹12,000 a year, verified through MGNREGS job card records.

Who is eligible

  • Rythu Bharosa (farmers): Landholders with cultivable agricultural land in Telangana, verified through the Bhu Bharati land records system.
  • Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa (landless labourers): Landless agricultural labourer households, verified against MGNREGS job card records.
  • Land classified as non-agricultural, inam, forest, or otherwise ineligible under Bhu Bharati does not qualify for Rythu Bharosa payment, even if previously covered under Rythu Bandhu.

Documents required

  • Land ownership documents, verified against Bhu Bharati records
  • Aadhaar card, linked to bank account
  • Bank account details
  • MGNREGS job card, for landless labourer applicants under Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa

How to apply

  1. Check your land's status on the Bhu Bharati portal to confirm it's classified as eligible cultivable land.
  2. Visit rythubharosa.telangana.gov.in or your local Agriculture Extension Officer to verify your registration and eligibility.
  3. If your land was previously covered under Rythu Bandhu but is now excluded, you can raise a correction request through the Bhu Bharati grievance process if you believe the classification is inaccurate.
  4. Landless labourers should confirm their MGNREGS job card is active and correctly linked for Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa consideration.
  5. Once verified, seasonal payments are credited directly to the registered bank account ahead of each cropping season.
